Lost Harmony

Taka grew up in Japan’s countryside, always dreaming of living in America—the land of freedom and opportunity. But after living in the US for more than a decade, he realizes Japan has its own unique qualities. Sadly, as he travels back home, he discovers that Japan, like many other countries, is losing the uniqueness of its culture as the hungry, media-driven wave of globalization sweeps over the world. This film is about his search for Japan’s lost identity.

A graduate of North Carolina State University, Taka Yamato has been on staff at Horizon Productions in Durham, North Carolina since 2000. Both as an editor and producer, he has been involved with wide range of television, film and corporate video productions. His editing and graphic work have also been seen on Discovery Channel, Discovery Science Channel, The Learning Channel and PBS.
