After being rejected from his college’s music program, Taylor gets placed in the audio engineering track. There he’s paired with Emma, a deeply religious and gifted pianist planning to soon marry a preacher and give up music altogether. Empowered by awe for
her talent and a growing feeling of love for her, Taylor decides to help Emma expand the
wings of her ambition, despite knowing that doing so means letting her fly away forever.

Michael Tierno, the writer/director of Nocturne saw he first film Auditions premiere at the Tribeca Film Center's First Look Film Series. It went on to win awards on the festival circuit and led to a development job for Miramax. Auditions was picked up by Bayview Entertainment and is available on Netflix. Tierno is author of Aristotle's Poetics for Screenwriters (Hyperion), which has sold 30,000 copies and is course adopted at many universities. He is an assistant professor of screenwriting and filmmaking at East Carolina University's where he produced and directed Nocturne, using students as cast and crew. Nocturne premiered at the Breckenridge Film Festival and won an award at the Park City Film Music Festival. Other projects in development include Exterior Night and Near Life Experience, screenplays he wrote which were Sundance Lab finalists, and At the End of the Day a quarterfinalist for the Nicholl Fellowship run by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
